It all started with a simple longing for the flavours of our South American heritage, which we had left behind when we immigrated from Venezuela to the west coast of Canada. Specifically, my family craved our treasured traditional snack, the Tequeño, a beloved Venezuelan cheese stick that had been a staple in our household for as long as I can remember.
To satisfy his cravings, I poured all my love and passion into refining the recipe until I finally achieved the crispy, crunchy, irresistibly delicious Tequeño we all craved. Fortunately, our fondness for this Venezuelan delicacy soon caught the attention of our closest acquaintances. They also fell in love with the delicious taste of our homemade Tequeño, and before we knew it, our family-owned treat had become a brand.
Tekegourmet is born
With the tireless support of our loved ones and friends, TekeGourmet was established in 2021. I recognized that I was on a mission to introduce a taste of Venezuela to the Greater Vancouver community and had been doing so ever since. Each bite of our Tequeño transports you to our homeland, where the sun always shines, and the people are warm and welcoming. We encourage you to explore the flavours of our culture and try them.
